About Nullwire

Why this exists

Every VPN advertises "no logs." Almost none of them can actually back that up. The claim shows up on a marketing page, and then the actual architecture underneath — what gets written to disk, what a server could hand over if compelled to, what "logs" even means in the fine print — is nowhere to be found. Some providers have had that gap exposed the hard way, when logs they said didn't exist turned out to.

Nullwire is my attempt at building the thing I wanted to actually trust: a VPN where "no logs" describes the architecture, not just the copy. Our How It Works and Privacy Policy pages go into the actual detail — connection state that only ever lives in memory, encryption keys the server never sees in the clear, exactly what we do and don't keep and why. If something on those pages doesn't hold up, I'd rather you tell me than take it on faith.

Who's behind it

I'm Matthew Mahan, a network engineer by trade, based in Milledgeville, Georgia. Nullwire is built and run by me, operating as Lunar Technologies LLC — not a team, not a company with a "trust and safety" department, just one person who built the service they wanted to use themselves and is directly responsible for how it runs. That has tradeoffs: fewer resources than a large provider, but also nowhere to hide behind — if something's wrong, it's on me to fix it, not "policy."

In the interest of the same honesty this page is asking for: I used Claude, an AI assistant, substantially throughout building Nullwire's website, infrastructure, and clients. I designed the product, made every decision, and tested it against real infrastructure myself — see the AI Policy page for the full, specific breakdown of what that did and didn't involve.
